The LA Free-Net collects information on its users in order to properly identify them. This information is requested when an account is created and is also updated by the user via the LAFN Web pages. In addition, records of all user connections to LAFN are retained including the IP addresses and phone numbers in use. This information is only made available to LAFN staff. This information is not provided to others except as described in the next paragraph.

User's names and user id's are available to LAFN users. LAFN will disclose information about individual users to law enforcement agencies, judicial or governmental authorities, or to other individuals or entities in response to subpoena, court order, or other legal process. In matters involving a danger to personal or public safety, LAFN may voluntarily provide information to appropriate governmental authorities.

In no event will LAFN, its designees, agents or employees thereof be liable to you or anyone else for any action taken in reliance on the information contained within this Web Site or for any consequential, special or similar damages, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. All information contained within LAFN's Web Site is the property of LAFN except where noted.

Certain links in the LAFN Web Site connect to other Web Sites maintained by third parties, including personal web sites offered to LAFN subscribers, over whom LAFN has no control. Therefore, LAFN makes no representations as to the accuracy , timeliness, suitability, or any other aspect of information contained within other Web Sites.

It is not LAFN's responsibility or desire to monitor or censor, in any way, content published on personal web pages hosted by LAFN. However, upon receipt of a complaint from a credible third-party, LAFN reserves the right to request any person or organization to promptly remove offensive, objectionable or disputed material from their web page or LAFN will suspend the publication of the offending page. Notice of a complaint shall be transmitted to the account holder via the user's e-mail account and followed with a notice placed in the regular mail. LAFN reserves the sole right to determine the credibility of any complaint. It is the sole responsibility of the account holder to provide an adequate response to the complaint. LAFN cannot and will not provide legal advice with regard to any disputed material.
